Brilliant lemon-straw. Rich caramelly oak and butter on the nose, with hints of lemon and apple. Gentle on the palate, with a hint of oak on the back palate. Subdued, light but elegant. Chill it down for a decent backyard quaffer. Try with roast chicken or flavourful fish. ( LCBO 583385 ) |

Bright honey-almond colour. Subtle tree fruit aromas with hints of citrus and possibly some wood. A good citrusy spine - dark and moody with a hint of smoke on the back palate. Good body and length. Subtle and somewhat laid-back, it would work well where a lighter Chardonnay is called for. (LCBO 162404) |

Pale garnet colour. Raspberry/cherry, with nuances of cedar, pepper and perfume. Light on the palate, soft-spoken, but with evident berry character, a flash of tannin and a solid spine. Good body and length. Top notch summer weight red. (LCBO 630657) |

Pale cherry-ruby. Aromas of raspberry with touches of tar and tobacco. Very light, with just a hint of sweetness, cherry flavours and light tannin. Medium body and length. A Beaujolais weight with enough character to work well at the table. Try with grilled salmon, BBQ chicken or ribs. (LCBO 630533) |

Rich, deep prune red. Lush oak on top, black current, black berry, spice, and wintergreen. Almost sweet berry-fruit flavours, gentle dusty tannins and a lingering acidity. Very good body and length. Very fruity, approachable, but would improve 2-3 years in the cellar. Plenty of character here. (LCBO 625111) |

Deep prune red. Aromas of cardamom, sweet oak, black currant and vanilla bean. Sweet berry flavours and dusty tannins with a shot of tart acidity on the back palate. Full bodied and very long, it's a tad coarse right now, though yummy if that's your pleasure. Otherwise, tuck away for 2-3 years. (LCBO 624494) |
